By faith!

 But what is faith?

What is biblical faith?

• Hebrews 11:1  Now faith (when you already have it ) is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

• Romans 10: ¹⁷ So then faith (origin) comes by hearing,
• and hearing by the word of God.

• Hearing through His creation –Ps 19 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament^[a] shows ^[b]His handiwork. ² Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. ³ There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. ⁴ Their ^[c]line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world.

Faith requires an unshakable immovable truth; (object of faith) without this foundation the “faith“ one possess or profess is  ultimately precarious or an illusion.

Biblical faith : The substance and the unseen evidence, that we have heard and believed and hope for rests on three things:

• The WORD of GOD – The bible
• The person of GOD – who He is, His attributes, His person, His character-Holy Spirit
• The works of GOD – creation and the cross.

Ultimately these are the only things that are unshakable, immovable, immutable. Faith that rests on these foundations  are the only genuine faith. Outside of this, there is no such thing as faith. Our subjective feelings, and belief that do not have biblical basis are not reliable.

So how do we know we have the Holy Spirit?

         By faith – according to the Scripture that says”

• Eph 1: ¹³ In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, ¹⁴ who^[d] is the ^[e]guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
• Rom 8:  ⁹ But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 

Subjectively : Manifestation of indwelling of Holy Spirit

         Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,                 faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Command

1 Thess 5: ⁹ Do not quench the Spirit. 

Gal 5:  ¹⁶ I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
